On 6 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova took part in the 34th session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva in the framework of the Annual Meeting dedicated to children’s rights.
On 5 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held an informal meeting with Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Valeriya Lutkovska in Geneva.
On 3 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russian Tatiana Moskalkova and Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Seref Malcoc signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The purpose of the memorandum is to establish a humanitarian channel of communication and exchange of information to assist Russian citizens in Turkey and Turkish citizens in Russia.
On 2 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova has taken part in the 4th International Symposium of Ombudsman Institutions being held in Ankara, Turkey. The event is devoted to the policy towards refugees and state practice. The forum was attended by ombudsmen and their staff from 39 countries. Conference participants were welcomed by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
On the first day of her stay in Ankara Tatiana Moskalkova visited the Embassy of the Russian Federation and honored the memory of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkey Andrey Karlov, who was killed by a terrorist on 19 December 2016.
On 27 February, a ceremony of postage cancellation was held in Moscow. The postage stamp with symbolics of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation has been launched to mark 20th anniversary since adoption of the Federal Constitutional Law On High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.
On 21 February, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova took part in a meeting of a working group for formation, interaction and increase of effectiveness of Russian public monitoring commissions. The working group has been formed at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
“The Constitutional Court has made a very reasonable decision concerning the article on rules of conducting public meetings,” Tatiana Moskalkova noted.
On 7 February, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova and the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings Madina Jarbussynova discussed a wide range of pressing human rights issues.
