During the event, Tatiana Moskalkova expressed her confidence in the further productive interaction, especially in terms of providing targeted assistance to people.
«We consider it important to conclude treaties that promote the spread of human rights education. I am sure that, in cooperation with the ‘Association of Lawyers of Russia’, we will be able to help more people in trouble, " the High Commissioner said.
In turn, Vladimir Gruzdev welcomed the signing of the document and stressed the importance of cooperation of the legal community with the institution of the public defender.
«The Association of Lawyers of Russia has more than 35 thousand members and 84 regional offices. I am confident that such cooperation will improve our capacity," the Chairman of the Board of the public organization said.
The Agreement has unlimited terms of action and provides for the joint organization of events, information exchange and consultations, the creation of working groups, and other ways of interaction between the parties in order to enhance the effectiveness of ensuring the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms.
In addition, an important point of the document is the joint work on the study and analysis of law enforcement practices, as well as participation in legislation improvement, raising the level of legal awareness and legal culture of the population.
At the end of the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova presented Vladimir Gruzdev with the High Commissioner Annual 2016 Report and responded to journalists' questions.
