On February 15, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova signed an order establishing a working group to monitor the observance of the electoral rights of citizens during the preparation and conduct of the election of the President of the Russian Federation.
The working group included representatives of the human rights and scientific community, as well as employees of the Office of the High Commissioner.
According to the document, the working group daily monitors and analyzes appeals received by the federal ombudsperson, as well as monitors publications in the media and social networks.
In addition, there was organized a mutual exchange of information on the facts of violation of the electoral rights of citizens with Commissioners for Human Rights in the subjects of the Russian Federation, and interaction with the CEC of Russia is maintained.
During the preparation and conduct of elections, if there are any facts of violation of the electoral rights of citizens, the High Commissioner will promptly send applications to the competent bodies and keep under personal control.
