On September 12 in Khabarovsk, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with regional Commissioner Igor Chesnitsky and Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Vyacheslav Shport and discussed a wide range of issues related to ensuring the rights of citizens in the region. Among them: the issues of providing housing for social workers, including orphans, provision of land and environmental security.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner appealed to the head of the region to assist in eliminating wage arrears to the residents of the Khabarovsk region who worked or work in the FGUP "Main
Tatiana Moskalkova also stressed the effective work with Igor Chesnitsky.
"We will be able to raise the level of guarantees for the rights protection of our citizens only with the assistance of the regions, being in constant contact with local authorities. I expect that, while working in Khabarovsk, we will discuss, together with the Commissioners of the constituent entities of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District, how to build effective interaction between government agencies and human rights defenders," said Tatiana Moskalkova.
According to Vyacheslav Shport, the institution of the Commissioner supplements the work of state structures and directly influences the mood in the society.
