On August 17, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a personal reception of citizens. Applicants from different constituent entities of the Russian Federation addressed the federal ombudswoman for assistance in resolving life situations.
In particular, the High Commissioner received an appeal against the violation of personal and housing rights. Also, Tatiana Moskalkova was approached by the mother of convicted citizen O. with a complaint against the violation of the constitutional right to judicial protection and fair trial.
In addition, the High Commissioner received an appeal from reserve officer B. on the lack of proper investigation of two criminal cases, in one of which the applicant was a suspect and, in the other, a victim.
Tatiana Moskalkova considered the issue of improving the legislation on donation of blood and blood components. The applicant, a honorary blood donor of Moscow and the Russian Federation, also asked the High Commissioner to assist in the introduction of a state award to encourage donors.
During the reception, the attention was given to the issue of providing medical assistance in one of the regional oncological dispensaries, where medical experts identified serious defects in the provision of health care to patients.
All appeals are under special control of the High Commissioner.
