Tatiana Moskalkova held conversation with Oleg Sentsov through videoconferencing

On July 20, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held conversation through videoconferencing with hunger-striker Oleg Sentsov serving his sentence in Penal Colony No.8 of the city of Labytnangi of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

During the conversation, Oleg Sentsov told Tatiana Moskalkova about his state of health and communication with his family.

«The conversation lasted almost half an hour. Oleg said that he kept an e-mail correspondence with his mother and used the right to make telephone calls to communicate with his sister. He also reads a lot, Oleg noted that there was a good library in the colony, " Tatiana Moskalkova said.

The High Commissioner also expressed the willingness to provide all necessary assistance to Oleg Sentsov.

Following the conversation, the federal ombudswoman addressed media representatives.

«I ask the media to be as delicate as possible regarding the issue of Oleg Sentsov’s health. Mass media sources recently reported that Sentsov was almost in critical condition, but he said today that the issue is often exaggerated," Tatiana Moskalkova said.
