On November 9, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova and Chief Commissioner of National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia Byambadorj Jamsran signed a Memorandum on Cooperation.
The Memorandum provides for cooperation in the protection of the rights and freedoms of Russian and Mongolian citizens. Under the Memorandum of Understanding the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation receives and considers applications from citizens of Mongolia residing in the territory of the Russian Federation. The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia also responds to complaints of Russian citizens residing in Mongolia.
In addition, the parties will exchange information, conduct research activities, conferences, seminars and trainings to improve human rights mechanisms at the local, national and regional levels. A significant part of cooperation is devoted to mutual visits, internship and other training activities in order to exchange experience at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
The parties welcomed the signing of the Memorandum and stressed that the joint work of human rights institutions will increase the protection of the rights of Russian and Mongolian citizens.
