Meeting with Council of Europe representatives took place in High Commissioner Office

On September 26, in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Deputy Head of Chancery of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ivan Solovyov met with Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes (ODGP) of the Council of Europe Verena Taylor and Head of Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federation Petr Sich.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the projects launched in the framework of the High Commissioner’s cooperation with the Council of Europe, developed further steps for their implementation, summed up the results of joint work on various human rights activities.

In addition, the parties outlined new directions of work within the framework of bilateral cooperation, discussed plans and deadlines for the implementation of joint programmes.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further joint work on the outlined areas of human rights activities.

On September 11, in Kaluga, I held a personal reception of citizens together with the regional ombudsman Yuriy Zelnikov. I was approached by citizen F., who was born in the city of Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk Region of Ukraine. As a child, he arrived in Russia with his parents, in 2007 his mother died, his father left for Ukraine.
