Meeting with Chairman of Vladimir Region’s Election Commission

On 18 August, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova met with Chairperson of the Vladimir Region’s Election Commission Vadim Minaev.

The questions of ensuring elections’ fairness and transparency were discussed during the meeting with the Chairperson of the regional election commission. Vadim Minaev told about electoral campaign’s aspects in the region, about preparation for the Single Voting Day and also about petitions received and examined at the stage of completion of candidates’ registration.

Tatiana Moskalkova met the registered candidates and political parties’ representatives after the conversation with the Chairman. High officials of the regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Vladimir Region Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia took part in the discussion on invitation of the High Commissioner.

On September 11, in Kaluga, I held a personal reception of citizens together with the regional ombudsman Yuriy Zelnikov. I was approached by citizen F., who was born in the city of Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk Region of Ukraine. As a child, he arrived in Russia with his parents, in 2007 his mother died, his father left for Ukraine.
