On September 5, members of the working group on monitoring the observance of the electoral rights of citizens during the preparation and conduct of elections on 9 September met in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.
During the discussion, the members of the working group approved a schedule of visits by representatives of the High Commissioner’s Office of organizations to verify the observance of citizens' electoral rights; determined the procedure for prompt response to reports of violations, as well as methods of interaction with regional Commissioners and the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia.
Control over the observance of electoral rights of citizens is carried out jointly with the Public Monitoring Team to observe the elections of the Mayor of Moscow under the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova is to visit several ballot stations, Lefortovo detention center and a number of other institutions where voting will take place.
At the end of the day, Tatiana Moskalkova will attend a meeting of the CEC of Russia.
