On April 5, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with the Chief Ombudsman of the Republic of Turkey Seref Malcoc.
Tatiana Moskalkova and Seref Malcoc discussed the most important issues related to protection of rights and interests of Russian and Turkish citizens.
In particular, the Russian ombudswoman presented her Turkish counterpart projects realized within the framework of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance. Tatiana Moskalkova stressed, that creation of a new integration community is important for its participants.
«We are to unify and harmonize normative acts on our subject: reception of citizens, work with disabled people, protection of rights of mentally ill persons. We are to create unified model methodologies and methodological recommendations for reception of citizens, interaction with the human rights community, holding lectures on human rights at schools. The extensive work plan will allow us to strengthen collaboration and to increase the level of human rights protection," the Russian ombudswoman said.
In addition, the parties considered particular situations of protection of the rights of Russian and Turkish citizens, as well as issues of further cooperation. At the end of the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova invited Seref Malcoc to participate in the international conferences which will be held this year in Saratov and Moscow.
