High Commissioner visited regional veterans' house in Khabarovsk

On September 12, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova visited the regional state budgetary institution "Khabarovsk Special Veterans' House No. 1".

Tatiana Moskalkova got acquainted with the living conditions of elderly people who during the conversation with the High Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Government of Khabarovsk Region for the created conditions and a full list of social services.

The institution is intended for living of certain categories of citizens, in particular, veterans of the Second World War, labor and combatants. Residential premises are provided on the basis of the decision of the Ministry of Social Protection of the population of the Khabarovsk Territory. Residents of the house receive social support in the form of home-based services.

During the first half of 2017, 303 citizens received social services at home. For 8 months of 2017 veterans were granted 38 035 social services. As of September 1, 2017, 282 people receive home-based social services.
