High Commissioner met with leadership of law enforcement and judicial authorities of Nenets Autonomous District

On October 1, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with the leadership of law enforcement and judicial authorities of the Nenets Autonomous District.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Court of the Nenets Autonomous District Evgeny Martynov, Prosecutor of the Nenets Autonomous District Nikolai Egorov, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nenets Autonomous District Oleg Yakovlev.

Participants discussed protection of human rights at all stages of the criminal process, during the trial, as well as during the sentence execution stage. The High Commissioner and representatives of law enforcement and judicial authorities focused on the protection of victims’ rights in case of unreasonable refusal to initiate criminal proceedings.
