High Commissioner met with EU Ambassador to Russia

On February 5, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with Ambassador of the European Union to the Russian Federation Markus Ederer.

During the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova presented the Institute of the High Commissioner, told about the main areas of activity, subjects of appeals, as well as mechanisms to protect and restore violated rights. In addition, the Russian ombudswoman paid special attention to the new forms of the response to citizens' appeals, including hotline and video conferencing format.

Tatiana Moskalkova also told about the work on the Report on the Activity of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation for 2018.

"Today we are working on the Report to sum up the results and develop recommendations and proposals that require special attention of public authorities," said Tatiana Moskalkova.

The High Commissioner and the Ambassador of the European Union to Russia also pointed out the importance of the collaboration on the project "Co-operation on the implementation of the Russian Federation National Action Strategy for Women (2017–2022)".

At the end of the meeting, Markus Ederer noted the positive results of the High Commissioner’s activity and contribution to the protection of Russian citizens’ rights.
