High Commissioner held working meeting with Governor of Belgorod Region

On 17 March, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova held a working meeting with Governor of Belgorod Region Yevgeny Savchenko and regional Commissioner for Human Rights Alexander Panin.

During the meeting the parties discussed the results of 2016, outlined a plan for cooperation for the current year and addressed issues of increasing the effectiveness of protecting rights of citizens in Belgorod Region.

In conclusion, Yevgeny Savchenko noted the importance of the human rights commissioners’ work in the field of protecting rights and freedoms and also stressed the need for closer interaction between the authorities and the institution.
