High Commissioner held a personal reception of citizens

06 April 2017

On 6 April, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova held a personal reception of Krasnodar farmers, participants of the "tractor march".

Farmers asked the High Commissioner to pay special attention to the problem of illegal lands seizure in the Krasnodar Territory and criminal prosecution, in their opinion, on the fictitious grounds of the «tractor march» participants. As farmers noted, the lack of dialogue between the authorities of the region, the district, the municipality and people led to social tension in the region.

The High Commissioner stated that she was ready to verify all the outlined circumstances and suggested passing the documents, appeals and court decisions to previously created by the Commissioner group for verifying the illegal land seizure.

The situation is under the personal control of the High Commissioner.
