Ella Pamfilova visited Lefortovo pre-trial detention centre

On 28 May, Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova visited Lefortovo pre-trial detention centre (SIZO No. 2, the FPS of Russia) in Moscow.

The Commissioner inspected observation of rights and legal interests of persons in custody, including implementation of procedural norms, provision of medical aid, and living conditions.

Ms Pamfilova spoke personally with the detained Mr Sentsov and Mr Soloshenko (Ukraine), as well as some other citizens of Ukraine, the Russian Federation and other countries.

During the meeting, a few of the confined made some requests which fall within the Commissioner’s competence, while no complaints about detention conditions were received.
