Dialogue with High Commissioner. Protecting children from cruelty

Dialogue with High Commissioner. Protecting children from cruelty

Two cases that I will discuss today are striking to the depths of the soul. I have often said that childhood is a period in life when a person needs special protection and comprehensive support. It is impossible to imagine what people can be capable of if they refuse to help children, and even more if they are cruel to them.

The chairperson of the "Association of Large Families", P., in defense of the rights of pupils of the kindergarten group of the general development type No. 3 "Firefly" addressed me. According to the applicant, the caregivers allowed abusive treatment against children, non-pedagogical methods of upbringing associated with physical and psychological violence.

After reviewing the materials provided, I immediately sent a request to the Prosecutor of the city of Langepas of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. According to the received reply, the director of the Department of Education and Youth Policy of the Administration of Langepas and the head of the Firefly were brought to disciplinary responsibility for the violations.

In addition, in the interests of a minor Sh., In accordance with Article 45 of the Civil Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, a claim was sent to the Langepas City Court for compensation for moral damage caused as a result of unlawful actions of the educator. The court took the side of mother Sh. And ordered compensation of 25 thousand rubles.

Justice prevailed — the rights of 250 children who go to the specified kindergarten are restored. I really hope that in the future their fate will be as good as possible, and they will never remember the unacceptable situations they could have witnessed.
A slightly different incident occurred in the Penza Region. A student in grade 2 needed psychological and pedagogical assistance. His mother reported that the recommendations indicated in the conclusion of the territorial psychological-medical-pedagogical commission were not implemented by the school administration, the director insisted on transferring the child to another educational institution.

I applied to the Department of Education of the city of Penza — according to the received answer, for the boy social, psychological and pedagogical support was organized for the correction of the emotional-volitional sphere and the development of self-control skills. The child has been transferred to full-time tuition based on an adapted educational program.

In turn, the director of the school indicated the need to strengthen administrative control over psychological and pedagogical support of students with disabilities, the work of teachers to develop students' skills of conflict-free behavior in a team and positive relationships between classmates.

I would like to draw the attention of teachers and educators to the fact that today’s children are the future of our country. Nowadays they play toys, draw with crayons on the asphalt and learn to read, but it will take time, and they will come to replace you — the current teachers, doctors, scientists. Handling them brutally now, you do not just cause them psychological trauma — you are depriving them of the opportunity to be successful people in the future. And they can repeat your mistakes, believing that this is necessary. Such a vicious circle will turn out, but we still have time to fix it.
