High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova expressed her deepest condolences following a sequence of terrorist attacks that had happened on the night of 11 December in Istanbul (Turkey) and on 11 December in Cairo (Egypt).
"For the last 24 hours the world faced tragic events: terrorist attacks in Turkey and Egypt. These barbaric crimes go beyond any limits — terrorists have no mercy on anyone: neither fans who came to see a soccer match, as in Istanbul, nor believers who came into a temple, as in Cairo.
The right to life represents the highest value all over the civilised world. Terrorists defy this fundamental and inalienable right of each human being in their attempts to generate fear and chaos among civilians. At the moment of such tragedies we understand the value of universal rights and freedoms, as well as the importance of consolidation of efforts in the fight for such rights and freedoms.
At this difficult time we are grieving together with those who have lost their close ones, and wish speedy recovery to all injured," said Tatiana Moskalkova.
